ATLANTA — A man lost his life following a shooting incident on Thursday evening at Greenbriar Mall, which resulted in a significant response from law enforcement and an active investigation by the Atlanta Police Department.
Authorities were summoned to the shopping center in southwest Atlanta, situated close to Interstate 285, after receiving reports of shots being fired. Upon arrival, officers found a man with several gunshot wounds. Emergency services rapidly transported him to a local hospital in critical condition; however, officials later confirmed his death due to his injuries.
The name of the victim has not yet been disclosed, as authorities are waiting to inform his family.
It is still uncertain if the shooting took place within the mall or in the parking lot outside. Nevertheless, detectives have concentrated a lot of their efforts around the food court area of the mall, where crime scene tape and police vehicles were observed enclosing the entrance.
