Matthew Dolan Obituary Death News: A 20-Year-Old Loses Life in Motorcycle Crash in Leesburg

 LEESBURG, Fla. — The community of Leesburg is grieving the death of 20-year-old Matthew Dolan, who sadly passed away on Thursday morning after a motorcycle accident at the intersection of Lee Street and U.S. Highway 441.

Matthew was the child of Dawn and Michael Dolan, a prominent local family known for their enterprises such as Holiday Marine, Lake Harris Boat Rentals, and Adventure Boat Share. At the time of the accident, he was wearing a helmet. Officials report that the incident took place when a vehicle made a left turn into his path.

Emergency crews took Matthew to UF Health Leesburg Hospital, where medical professionals, including doctors, nurses, paramedics, and helicopter staff, labored diligently for more than ninety minutes to stabilize him. Afterward, he was moved to Ocala Regional Trauma Center, where medical personnel continued their attempts, but sadly, he succumbed to his injuries.

Matthew's grandfather, Don Keister, conveyed his appreciation for the medical team's efforts and expressed his sorrow on social media:

“Matthew, my first grandchild, was riding his motorcycle in Leesburg this morning when a car turned left into his path. He was taken to UF Health Leesburg ER where the doctors, nurses, medics, and helicopter team worked extremely hard for over an hour and a half to stabilize him. He was subsequently transferred to Ocala Regional Trauma Center, where their efforts continued, but he unfortunately succumbed to his injuries. His absence will be deeply felt.”

Dawn Dolan, his mother, also shared the heartbreaking news online, stating:

“Our son has gone to be with Jesus. Thank you everyone for your prayers. We are heartbroken.”

The accident led to a temporary closure of Lee Street as authorities carried out their investigation.

The loss of Matthew has had a significant effect on the Leesburg community, especially among friends, family members, and the local business network, where the Dolan family is highly regarded for their kindness and longstanding contributions.
