Anecia Kay Thacker and Lamonica Webb Remembered After North Travis County Double Homicide

Anecia Kay Thacker, 37, and Lamonica Webb, 32, both of Austin, Texas, were killed in a double homicide at an apartment complex in the Wells Branch area of North Travis County. Their deaths have left families, friends and loved ones grieving while investigators continue working to establish the full circumstances surrounding the shooting. The women were identified by authorities after deputies responded to the complex on Shoreline Drive on September 23, 2026. The apartment complex became the focus of a rapidly developing investigation, while loved ones were left confronting the shock of losing two women suddenly and violently.

The Travis County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were called at about 8:45 a.m. after a property manager discovered an apartment door ajar and saw a body inside. Deputies entered the apartment and found two women suffering from gunshot wounds. Both were pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators later identified the victims as Thacker and Webb, bringing names and identities to a tragedy that had initially been reported only as a violent incident.

The investigation did not immediately establish the deaths as a double homicide. Authorities initially considered the possibility of a murder-suicide while detectives examined the evidence and circumstances inside the apartment. As the investigation developed, however, evidence recovered at the scene led authorities to determine that the deaths were a double homicide. That distinction became an important part of the case as investigators continued pursuing information about what happened.

Authorities later identified 24-year-old Michael Robinson of Mississippi as a person of interest. He was taken into custody on September 25 and charged with capital murder in connection with the deaths, according to the account provided. The charge is an allegation, and Robinson’s arrest and prosecution do not by themselves establish guilt. The investigation and legal proceedings remain ongoing, meaning additional evidence or court proceedings could further clarify the case.

For the families of Thacker and Webb, the investigation is only one part of a much larger loss. Anecia and Lamonica were not simply victims in a criminal case; they were women with relationships, memories and lives that mattered to people around them. Their deaths leave relatives and friends confronting the absence of people whose presence had been woven into everyday life. The circumstances surrounding their deaths cannot capture the full stories of who they were.

Grief after a sudden and violent death can appear in ordinary moments. A photograph, a familiar location, an old conversation or an everyday routine can bring a loved one immediately to mind. For those mourning Thacker and Webb, such memories may become especially important as the investigation continues. Their families are left to balance the difficult search for answers with the personal work of remembering two women whose lives extended far beyond the tragedy that ended them.

Anecia Kay Thacker and Lamonica Webb will remain part of the memories of the people who knew and loved them. Their deaths have brought a criminal investigation to an Austin-area community, but for their families, the deepest impact is personal and lasting. As authorities continue the legal process, those closest to Thacker and Webb will continue grieving, remembering and carrying forward the parts of their lives that cannot be reduced to a case file. Their names, relationships and memories remain central to the people who mourn them.
