Alexander Ray Yager Obituary News: Twenty-one-year-old Alexander Ray Yager from Grants Pass passes away in a tragic accident on Highway 238 located in Josephine County.

 Josephine County, OR — The Oregon State Police are looking into a devastating crash involving a single vehicle that took place early on the morning of November 3, 2025, on Highway 238 near mile marker 8.




As per initial findings, a Subaru Impreza heading west, operated by 21-year-old Alexander Ray Yager from Grants Pass, was unable to manage a curve properly. The vehicle veered off the road, collided with a power pole, and overturned several times before igniting. Yager, who was driving, managed to get out of the car and was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.

Sadly, a passenger, 36-year-old Jacob Dean Mix, also from Grants Pass, was unable to escape and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Oregon State Police indicated that factors such as speed and impairment are believed to be key contributors to the accident, although the investigation is still in progress. The road remained closed for about eight hours while officials carried out investigations at the site and cleared the location.

The community, including family and friends, are grieving the loss of Jacob Dean Mix, leaving many in a state of shock. Authorities are requesting that anyone with information regarding the incident reach out to the Oregon State Police.
