Rockford, Ill. — The community is grieving the death of 49-year-old Bradley Acaley from Mount Morris, who sadly passed away in a single-car rollover accident early Saturday morning at the junction of South Main and Prairie Road.
As per the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office, deputies and rescue teams arrived at the location around 2:30 a.m. after receiving notifications about a collision involving a person trapped inside a vehicle. Upon the arrival of the Blackhawk and New Milford Fire Departments, they discovered the car approximately 85 feet from the roadway.
Emergency personnel acted quickly to extricate Acaley from the car, but despite their diligent efforts, he had already suffered lethal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Officials verified that Acaley was the only person in the vehicle during the accident.
Investigators found that Acaley had been heading south on Prairie Road when he lost control, causing the vehicle to go off-road and overturn. The Winnebago County Coroner’s Office later indicated that the cause of death was blunt force trauma to the head.
The accident is still being investigated as officials explore the elements that might have led to the event.
Family, friends, and members of the community remember Bradley as a compassionate and diligent individual whose kindness and positive spirit impacted the lives of everyone around him. His unexpected departure has created a significant emptiness in the Mount Morris and Rockford regions, where he was deeply valued by many.
Local authorities expressed their sympathy to the Acaley family and extended their appreciation to the emergency responders who attended to the tragic incident.
Rest in Peace, Bradley Acaley.
Taken too early, your spirit will endure in the hearts of those who cared for you. May you be honored for your compassion, your joy, and the enduring influence you had on all who were fortunate enough to know you.
