 David Hartman Obituary, Death; – Over the weekend, a tragic accident involving multiple vehicles occurred in Gloucester County, leading to a death.




According to data from the New Jersey State Police, 63-year-old David Hartman from Newfield sadly died on November 1 when his Jeep caught fire following a crash on State Highway 55 in Elk Township.

The incident took place shortly after 10 p.m. in the southbound section of Route 55. Three vehicles were involved in the accident: a Jeep, a Nissan, and a Ford.

The force of the crash caused the Jeep, which Hartman was driving, to be thrown into the central median, resulting in it being consumed by flames.

Troopers from the New Jersey State Police along with emergency medical staff quickly reached the location and declared Hartman deceased due to injuries acquired from the collision and the subsequent fire.

The driver and six occupants of the Nissan, as well as the Ford's driver, experienced minor injuries and were taken to a local hospital for treatment.

The New Jersey State Police are actively engaging in an inquiry into the details surrounding the collision. Currently, no charges have been brought against anyone, and there is no further information available regarding the moments that preceded the incident.
