Emma Gibbs Deyton Obituary, Death; – A man charged with homicide was taken by helicopter to a medical facility following a vehicle accident in Yancey County.

Law enforcement reported that they responded to Twilight Way within the South Toe area on Sunday. Upon their arrival, authorities discovered Emma Gibbs Deyton deceased.

According to officials, the individual suspected of the crime, named Henry Paul Deyton, was in the same accident where the body of Emma Deyton was located. He was airlifted to a nearby hospital due to his injuries.

The Yancey County Sheriff’s Office stated that a murder warrant for Deyton was issued on Monday. He is still in the custody of the Johnson City Police Department while receiving treatment at the hospital.

The investigations regarding the murder and the accident are being conducted by the sheriff’s office in conjunction with the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation.
