Eric Roland Obituary Update: Arkansas State Authorities Look into the Deadly Shooting of 37-Year-Old Eric

 Carlisle, Arkansas – The Arkansas State Police (ASP) are currently looking into a deadly shooting that took place in the early hours of Sunday in Carlisle, following a call for help from the Carlisle Police Department (CPD). According to official statements, CPD officers were dispatched to the 400 block of North Greenlaw Avenue on November 2, after receiving reports of a shooting. Witnesses present at the scene pointed out the suspect as 40-year-old Cyle Ramone Cooney, who made his escape in a white Dodge Ram. Law enforcement swiftly took action to apprehend Cooney, and he was arrested by the Lonoke County Sheriff’s Office around 8:30 a.m. on Sunday.

Cooney faces charges including First-Degree Murder, Unlawful Discharge of a Firearm from a Vehicle, and Illegal Possession of a Firearm by Certain Individuals. He is currently detained at the Lonoke County Detention Center under a bond set at $150,000 and is expected to appear in court on January 12, 2026.

Authorities have stated that the inquiry is still underway, with officers and investigators carefully piecing together the events that led to the deadly shooting.
