NORTH PRESTON, N.S. — The Integrated Major Crime Unit of RCMP/HRP is looking into a fatal shooting that resulted in the death of 28-year-old Jayden Tynes on Saturday, November 2.
As reported by the RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment, officers along with Emergency Health Services (EHS) responded to calls about gunfire in the vicinity of Cain Street and Clarence Street at approximately 4:58 p.m.
When law enforcement arrived, they discovered Jayden Tynes with injuries from gunfire. Paramedics swiftly transported him to the hospital, but despite receiving urgent medical assistance, he succumbed to his injuries shortly afterward.
The inquiry is being directed by the RCMP/HRP Integrated Major Crime Unit, which is receiving support from the Integrated General Investigative Section, RCMP Forensic Identification Services, and the Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service.
Authorities are requesting assistance from the public and are especially keen to obtain dashcam recordings from anyone who drove in the vicinity of Cain Street and Clarence Street between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. on the day of the incident.
