Junell, Cherished Judge And Public Servant From San Angelo, Texas Has DiedA distinguished alumnus of Texas Tech University, Junell initially gained recognition as a linebacker on the Red Raiders football squad prior to obtaining his Juris Doctor from the same school. He also honorably served in the United States Army as a Captain, demonstrating strength and discipline throughout his entire life.
Junell’s involvement in politics included seven terms as a member of the Texas House of Representatives, during which he held the role of Chairman of the House Appropriations Committee. His time in office was characterized by a sincere wish to serve the people of West Texas, consistently prioritizing his constituents' requirements over partisan interests.
Following his legislative career, he received an appointment as a federal district court judge for the Western District of Texas, stationed in Midland. Robert A. Junell passed away naturally at the age of 78.
He will be remembered for his influential leadership, kindness, and lifelong commitment to justice and his community.
