Ryan Callaway Obituary Update: 33-Year-Old Ryan Callaway Passes Away in Tragic Accident Involving a Tractor

LENOIR, N.C. — The residents of Lenoir are deeply saddened by the abrupt and heartbreaking death of 33-year-old Ryan Callaway, who tragically passed away Thursday morning in a catastrophic accident involving a tractor-trailer on U.S. 321 in the southern part of Lenoir.




Lenoir police reported that a semi-truck from Florida had come to a stop in the 2000 section of U.S. 321 after the driver paused to seek directions from a business nearby. Shortly after 9 a.m., Ryan was driving south in his 2014 Honda Civic when he collided with the truck that was stationed in the right lane of travel. Emergency services arrived promptly, but sadly, Ryan was declared dead at the incident site.

The roadway remained closed for around 2½ hours while officers examined the scene, collecting evidence and investigating the details leading up to the accident. Currently, no charges have been brought against anyone, and the inquiry continues.
