CAPITAL MURDER ALLEGATIONS: Four Adolescents Taken into Custody Following the Death of 17-Year-Old Keighan Robert Crist in Burleson Park

 On the evening of December 7, 2025, the peaceful environment surrounding Bailey Lake in Burleson, Texas, faced a shocking disruption. At precisely 11:33 p.m., what began as a calm Sunday night transformed into a crime scene, highlighted by the presence of police cars and emergency lighting. Officers hurried to the parking lot of the park after receiving frantic calls reporting gunfire, only to reveal a devastating scene of unfulfilled dreams. Inside a car was 17-year-old Keighan Robert Crist, slumped over in the driver's seat, his life slipping away due to several gunshot wounds.

Although first responders urgently attempted to rush him to a nearby hospital, Keighan was declared dead, his future tragically cut short by a pointless act of violence. A second 17-year-old male was also discovered at the location, enduring a gunshot wound to his leg—a physical injury that may mend, yet the psychological impact of witnessing his friend’s demise will likely remain for a long time. For the families affected, that late-night call has initiated a tormenting reality that will persist indefinitely.

Following the shooting incident, the Burleson Police Department acted quickly to track down those accountable. The probe uncovered that this calamity originated from a drug deal that went awry—a perilous encounter that ended in tragedy. Authorities promptly identified and apprehended 17-year-old Wyatt Lynn Jacobs, who was located parked in a driveway soon after the gunfire. Jacobs, who allegedly confessed to his role, faces charges of capital murder and aggravated robbery, with an astonishing bond amount set at $1.2 million.

However, Jacobs was not acting alone. By December 12, authorities reported the captures of three additional young men. Joel Fabian Garcia and Julio Adan Duarte are both being charged with murder and aggravated robbery, each held with a bond of $1.25 million. A fourth suspect, Gustavo Gil Jr., was detained for participating in organized crime activities. The seriousness of the charges and the excessively high bond amounts underscore the severity of the offense.
