Dominic Connelly, aged 24, apprehended following a manhunt that lasted two months in North Carolina.

 The search for 24-year-old Dominic Connelly has concluded following nearly two months of efforts, as confirmed by officials. Connelly was apprehended on December 11, 2025, in Vanceboro, North Carolina.

According to the Craven County Sheriff’s Office, Connelly was located concealed in an empty building close to Muddy Lane. Authorities had earlier suspected he was residing in a densely forested region while avoiding arrest.

Connelly is sought in relation to the murder of his 72-year-old grandmother, Patricia Lopedote, who was discovered dead in her Havelock residence on October 25, alongside a fire at the location. He is also alleged to have taken her car following the incident.

Just four days later, on October 29, Connelly reportedly attacked a sheriff's deputy from Craven County with a knife in the leg within a Bojangles restroom in Vanceboro before escaping on foot.

Lopedote’s stolen vehicle was subsequently located abandoned near baseball fields in New Bern. The official report on her cause of death has yet to be made public.
