 Joe Corrao, Lorain, OH Death and Obituary – It is with profound sorrow and heavy hearts that the family of Joseph “Joe” Corrao, who was 69 years old and resided in Lorain, Ohio, announces his passing on December 14, 2025. His departure signals the loss of a devoted spouse, loving child, treasured sibling, and unwavering advocate for his community, particularly in youth sports. The kindness, spirit, and generosity Joe exhibited touched countless lives across Lorain and neighboring regions, creating an enduring legacy of service and empathy.

Born on June 5, 1956, Joe’s existence was anchored in family, camaraderie, and a genuine inclination to assist others. Those who were fortunate enough to know him remember him as an individual with a large heart—gentle yet resolute, modest in nature, and generous in deeds. He held a strong belief in the significance of community and led his life in a manner that constantly elevated those around him.

Joe was particularly recognized for his steadfast engagement with the Sheffield-Sheffield Lake Youth Baseball Association. He passionately supported this organization, firmly believing in the beneficial role sports can play in the lives of young individuals. For Joe, youth athletics transcended mere competition; they served as a means to impart discipline, collaboration, self-assurance, and respect. In tribute to his lifelong dedication, the family has requested donations be made to the Sheffield-Sheffield Lake Youth Baseball Association in Joe’s memory—a fitting homage to a man who devoted so much of himself to the growth of young athletes.

The essence of Joe’s life revolved around family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Annette Corrao, his partner and dearest friend, who remained by his side with constant support. Joe also leaves his loving parents, Dena Corrao (DeAngelis) and Joseph J. Corrao, who raised him with core values based in faith, compassion, and responsibility.

Joe is fondly remembered by his three sisters—Diane Flock (Larry), Angela Corrao, and Janet Jasinski—who cherish him as a devoted brother whose laughter and kindness brought delight to every family gathering. He shared a profound bond with his extended family, including in-laws Rose (Ianni) and Dan Naelitz, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins, all of whom held a cherished place in his heart.

He carried the heritage of his grandparents—Angeline (Amato), Serafino DeAngelis, Anna (Mishak), and Angelo “Babe” Corrao—whose values were instrumental in forming the individual he grew to be. Joe’s life was enriched by shared customs, important dialogues, and cherished memories that will persist through those who loved him.

Visitation is scheduled for Sunday, December 21, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Reidy Scanlan Giovannazzo Funeral Home in Lorain. A prayer service is set to follow on Monday, December 22, at 10:15 AM at the funeral home, with a Mass of Christian Burial held afterwards at the Church of St. Peter in Lorain.
