The Muncie Police Department reports that Brown was found with visible gunshot injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was declared deceased. Investigators state that Brown allegedly entered the home unlawfully while armed, leading the resident, 33-year-old Daniel Songer, to fire in self-defense. Songer has since been apprehended and faces charges related to felony obstruction of justice and felony illegal possession of a handgun.
