Norm Naimy DeWitt, MI Passing, Notice: Court Security Deputy Norm Has Passed Away

 The DeWitt community is experiencing profound sorrow due to the sudden departure of Norman Michael Naimy—affectionately referred to as Norm, Normee, and primarily, Dad—who passed away on December 9, 2025. He came into the world on July 24, 1966, in Detroit, Michigan, to parents Norman and Alice Naimy, and grew into an individual whose presence provided solace, joy, and steadfast support to all who were fortunate to know him.

For 25 years, Norm served the Lansing community with pride as a devoted officer of the Lansing Police Department. His empathy, genuine willingness to listen, and generous spirit made him a reliable source of comfort for those surrounding him. He possessed a sharp, playful sense of humor capable of brightening the darkest days and a strong work ethic that motivated peers and friends alike. People had faith in Norm—not merely due to his position, but because of his integrity.

In 2002, Norm wed his soulmate, Julie, and together they built a life characterized by happiness, warmth, and dedication to their family. Their children, Brendan and Kaylie, were his greatest joy, and he treasured every moment spent supporting them, enjoying meals, sharing laughter, or simply being there. To Norm, nothing was more important than family.

An avid fitness lover, Norm was often seen at the gym. He especially enjoyed the stairmaster—a piece of equipment many shunned, but one he approached with resolve each day. He also liked to play golf and pickleball and remained a passionate, lifelong supporter of the Detroit Lions, cheering for his team with unwavering enthusiasm.

Norm’s kindness transcended his lifetime. As an organ donor, he provided the incredible gift of life to others—one last act that epitomized the generosity and selflessness he demonstrated throughout his life.

He is survived by his treasured wife, Julie; his children, Brendan and Kaylie; his brothers, Rob (Trudy) and Michael (Rene) Naimy; his sister-in-law, Pam (Paul) Jacobson; in addition to numerous nieces, nephews, colleagues, and dear friends who will remember him fondly.

A memorial service to celebrate Norm’s life will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at 2:00 p.m., with visitation starting at 12:00 p.m., at Gorsline Runciman Tiffany Chapel, located at 3232 W. Saginaw, Lansing, Michigan.

Norm will always be remembered for his wit, resilience, compassion, and the endless love he offered to those he cared for most. His legacy continues in the many lives he impacted.
