Raymond W. Baker Nashville, Tennessee Death and Obituary – Raymond W. Baker, a loving son, brother, friend, and public servant, passed away on December 24, 2025, leaving behind a legacy characterized by kindness, dedication, and compassion. He was born in Vicksburg, Mississippi, and raised in Clinton, where he grew up in a supportive environment that instilled in him a strong sense of community, responsibility, and generosity.
Raymond demonstrated his commitment to service by enlisting in the Mississippi National Guard, showcasing his early dedication to leadership and service. His pursuit of knowledge led him to complete his studies at the University of Southern Mississippi in 2023, a significant achievement that highlighted his determination and effort. In his career, he thrived as an IT technician at Nashville Electric Service in Nashville, Tennessee, where coworkers respected him for his technical skills, problem-solving talents, and consistent professionalism.
Outside of his work life, Raymond was treasured for his warmth, humor, and commitment to his loved ones. Recognized for his contagious smile and gentle nature, he possessed a remarkable ability to uplift the spirits of family and friends, whether through a kind gesture, a humorous comment, or merely being there during tough moments. His constant support and kindness established him as a vital presence in the lives of many, creating connections that will be lovingly remembered for years ahead.
Faith played a significant role in Raymond’s existence. In his youth, he was actively involved in First Baptist Church in Clinton, Mississippi, where he drew strength, motivation, and community support. His faith influenced his choices and how he engaged with others, always highlighting compassion, humility, and service.
His loving mother, Toni Jones; father, Brantley Jones; siblings Kenya Baker, Ashton Jones, Dylan Jones and his spouse Bailey, Raegan Hynum and her partner Caleb, John Richard, Jordan Newell, and Kenny Stevenson, along with a wide network of friends who felt like family, survive him. He was preceded in death by his biological mother, Jean Harrell.
Raymond’s visitation is scheduled for Saturday, December 27, 2025, at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home in Clinton, Mississippi, commencing at 10:00 a.m., and will be followed by a Celebration of Life at 11:00 a.m. In place of floral arrangements, the family kindly asks that donations be contributed to Baptist Children’s Village in memory of Raymond, supporting causes that were dear to him.
Raymond W. Baker will be remembered as a caring individual who embraced life, loved with intensity, and dedicated himself to serving his community with steadfast commitment. His legacy of kindness, devotion, and joy continues to motivate all those fortunate enough to have known him.
