Sherrie Baier Memorial Announcement: Authorities in Kansas City Determine Identity of Individual Discovered Deceased in Eastern Side Murder Inquiry

 KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The police in Kansas City have revealed that the woman discovered deceased on Monday morning during an investigation into a homicide in the eastern part of the city is Sherrie Baier, aged 52, as stated in an update provided on Tuesday, December 23.



The inquiry commenced shortly after 10 a.m. on Monday when law enforcement officers were sent to the vicinity of 27th Street and Quincy Avenue following a report of a stabbing incident. Upon their arrival, authorities found a woman with lacerations. She was taken to a local hospital, where she received care for significant but not life-threatening injuries.

While officers were still present at the location, they were alerted to a potential suspect's whereabouts. Around 10:30 a.m., they proceeded to the 6600 block of East 16th Street, where they discovered evidence pointing to a different crime scene. Inside a home, they found an adult female suffering from unspecified injuries.

The woman was later identified as Sherrie Baier and was declared dead at the scene. Her death is being treated as a homicide.

Authorities report that a person of interest has been detained while the investigation continues. Detectives are currently working to uncover the events leading up to the situations and to determine if the two locations are linked.
