 The community of Miami-Dade is actively seeking answers after the emergence of Tania Charles, a 27-year-old woman whose remains were discovered discarded by a roadway in southwest Miami, leading to an ongoing homicide inquiry.

The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office reported that Tania’s remains were found at approximately 5:40 a.m. on December 12, 2025, close to the intersection of Southwest 170th Street and 98th Avenue.

Officials indicated that her body showed signs of severe beating and was located without clothing, raising urgent concerns about the events that led to her demise.

Investigators released surveillance video that seemingly captures a pickup truck decelerating before a body is tossed onto the street, subsequently driving away. This footage has become a vital element as detectives strive to track down those accountable.

Ulna Charles, Tania’s mother, has expressed her grief publicly, sharing that her daughter battled schizophrenia and would occasionally vanish for extended periods. “I just want to know how she died,” she stated, advocating for justice and accountability.

Local workers in the vicinity have informed authorities that they recognized Tania and suspect she was experiencing homelessness. A witness characterized the situation as “horrific,” asserting that no individual should be treated “as if they were insignificant.”
