According to a statement from the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched to a residence located at 502 SW Journey Court around 4:07 p.m. after they were alerted to the shooting. Upon arrival, law enforcement discovered 27-year-old Tina Farmer with a gunshot injury to her head. Despite immediate medical efforts, she was declared dead at the site. Investigators later determined that the alleged shooter was a relative.

After the initial discovery, deputies quickly secured the vicinity and broadened their search into the adjacent woods. Due to fears that the suspect might be armed and moving throughout nearby areas, a shelter-in-place order was issued via social media and by Columbia County Emergency Management Services. Residents were advised to stay indoors while police conducted a thorough search.

Shortly after 7:00 p.m., law enforcement found the suspect, identified as 19-year-old Tyndale M. Mullins, in a wooded region close to the incident’s location. Authorities confirmed that he was discovered unresponsive. Mullins was revealed to be Tina Farmer's cousin, deepening the tragedy of the situation.
