 Bernadette “Bernie” Lavery is being remembered with profound affection after her peaceful passing on August 27, 2026, at hospital, where she was surrounded by the family who meant so much to her. She was a cherished mother-in-law to Tara and John and a devoted grandmother to Jack, Callum, Abby, Leo, David, and Jay.

From Sunday afternoon, Bernie will then repose at her late residence before the funeral procession on Tuesday morning, allowing those who loved her another opportunity to gather and say goodbye.

Her Requiem Mass is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Tuesday, September 1, at St Michael the Archangel Church. Following the Mass, burial will take place at Blaris Cemetery in Lisburn. The arrangements reflect the family’s wishes for a respectful farewell centered on faith, family, and remembrance. In keeping with those wishes, family flowers are requested, while anyone wishing to make a gesture in Bernie’s memory may instead support the Alzheimer’s Society NI.
