The Prairieville, Louisiana, community is mourning Alyssia Stewart, 35, and Dusharne Stewart, 37, whose lives ended after a devastating multi-vehicle collision in Ascension Parish. Their sudden deaths have brought deep sorrow to family members, friends, and loved ones who are now facing the difficult reality of saying goodbye to two people whose lives were closely connected to those around them.
According to authorities, the collision occurred Wednesday evening at approximately 6 p.m. on Interstate 10 eastbound near milepost 169. Four vehicles were reportedly involved. A 2022 Ford F-250 struck the rear of a 2017 Nissan Altima driven by Alyssia, beginning a chain reaction involving a 2026 Kia Carnival and a 2023 GMC Yukon. Alyssia and Dusharne were both properly restrained and taken to a local hospital, where they later died from their injuries.
For Alyssia’s family, her passing represents the loss of a 35-year-old woman whose life was filled with relationships, experiences, hopes, and memories. The circumstances of her final moments cannot capture the person she was to those who knew her. Family and friends will continue to remember the conversations they shared, the occasions they celebrated, and the everyday moments that helped shape their connection with her.
Dusharne, 37, leaves behind his own circle of family, friends, and loved ones who are now grieving his absence. His life represented years of memories and relationships that cannot be reduced to the circumstances surrounding his death. Those closest to him will continue to carry stories, photographs, conversations, and personal memories that preserve the individual they knew and loved.
The loss of Alyssia and Dusharne in the same event makes this period particularly difficult for their families. Two people who were part of their lives are now gone at once, creating an absence that may be felt during family gatherings, celebrations, familiar routines, and other moments that once brought people together. Grief can take many forms, and the days ahead may bring both painful reminders and comforting memories.
Their passing also leaves the Prairieville community reflecting on the fragility of everyday life. A journey that began as an ordinary trip ended with consequences that families could never have anticipated. While the circumstances of the collision are part of the ongoing official record, those mourning Alyssia and Dusharne are focused on something more personal: remembering the people they were and the relationships they built throughout their lives.
As family and friends gather to cope with their grief, memories will remain an important source of comfort. Every photograph, story, shared laugh, and familiar reminder can preserve something of Alyssia and Dusharne for the people who loved them. Their lives should be remembered for the connections they created and the people who mattered to them, rather than solely for the circumstances of their final day. May their families find strength through one another and through the support of the Prairieville community, and may the memories of Alyssia Stewart and Dusharne Stewart continue to be cherished for years to come.
