Family Remembers A. Sterling MacSwain Jr. as a Beloved Father, Grandfather and Great-Grandfather

Sterling MacSwain Jr. of Charlottetown, formerly of Morell, died peacefully on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at the age of 91, closing a life defined by family, enduring relationships, and deep community connections. For those who knew him, his passing represents far more than the end of a long life. It marks the loss of a husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and familiar presence whose influence reached through several generations. The memories he leaves behind will continue within a family that grew around his love and guidance.

Sterling was the beloved husband of the late Florence (Ployer) MacSwain and a devoted father to Don, Ann, David, and Nancy. His family also included nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, giving him a special place at the center of a large and closely connected family. Family and friends will have an opportunity to pay their respects at MacLean Funeral Home on Friday, August 28, from 4 to 7 p.m. His funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, August 29, at 10 a.m. at St. Mark’s Presbyterian Church, followed by interment at Midgell Cemetery. These gatherings will provide relatives, friends, neighbors, and members of the wider community a chance to come together, share memories, and support one another as they say goodbye to someone whose life touched many people.
