 Monongahela is remembering Cody Joseph Walters, a 28-year-old business owner whose unexpected passing on September 1 has left his wife, family, friends, customers, and companions facing a difficult time. Born in Freehold, New Jersey, Cody grew into a skilled tradesman and business owner whose work, humor, and straightforward personality became defining parts of the life he built in southwestern Pennsylvania. His life reflected determination, loyalty, and a strong connection to his community.

Cody graduated from Trinity High School in 2016 before continuing his education at Rosedale Technical College in Pittsburgh, where he earned an associate degree in diesel technology. He put that training to use as the owner and operator of Walters Welding and Fabrication in Monongahela. Those who knew his work described him as highly talented, reflecting the pride and technical ability he brought to projects and the reputation he developed through his craft.

Away from the shop, Cody found happiness in ordinary time spent with the people closest to him. He enjoyed riding side-by-sides with his wife, Noelle, spending time with friends, and turning everyday situations into opportunities for humor. His sarcasm and willingness to joke about nearly anything became familiar traits among those who shared his life. For friends, those small moments are now among the memories that make Cody’s personality feel vivid.

Nelson remembered him as one of the “coolest, most realistic, true friends” he had known and reflected on their honest conversations. Cody and Noelle had also reached a milestone shortly before his passing, celebrating their second wedding anniversary on August 31. Cody is survived by Noelle Golomb Walters, his brother Justin, sister-in-law Jocelyn Golomb, extended family, and Theodore and Simon, known affectionately as “The Kids.” Their memories will continue to shape how he is remembered.

Friends and community members have an opportunity to gather in Monongahela to honor Cody’s life. Visitation is scheduled from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, September 8, at Frye Funeral Home, followed by funeral services at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 9. Interment is planned at Round Hill Cemetery in Elizabeth.
