Shanteria “KT” Mosley was killed in Smyrna, Georgia, after investigators determined that she suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the head, according to information released by Smyrna police. Her remains were discovered near the Park Valley Apartments along Valley Parkway on September 23, after relatives became concerned when they could not reach her. Investigators believe Mosley died sometime between about 9:45 a.m. and 8:28 p.m. that day, according to a murder warrant.
Mosley’s family became involved in the search after losing contact with her that afternoon. Her aunt, Michelle Weaver, said relatives tracked Mosley’s cellphone to the Park Valley Apartments, where they found her vehicle and began looking through the surrounding area. The search eventually led family members to evidence they believed was connected to Mosley. Police were then notified, beginning a homicide investigation that would lead detectives to examine the apartment complex and other locations.
A later autopsy provided investigators with an important finding about Mosley’s death. The examination determined that she suffered a gunshot wound to the head. Authorities have not publicly explained where the shooting occurred or described what immediately preceded it. Those unanswered questions remain significant as detectives work to reconstruct the events that led to Mosley’s death and determine the full circumstances surrounding the case.
Investigators identified 18-year-old Kingston Lammar Bradley as a suspect. According to the murder warrant, family members encountered Bradley during their search and investigators later examined his apartment. Police reported finding blood evidence in several areas, along with equipment and other items that investigators considered relevant to the case. The warrant alleges that evidence inside the apartment was consistent with Mosley having been killed there. Those allegations remain part of the criminal case and have not been adjudicated in court.
Detectives also searched a vehicle two days after Mosley’s remains were initially discovered. Police said they found garbage bags in the trunk and believed one appeared to contain human remains. The Cobb County Medical Examiner’s Office examined the material and determined that additional human remains were present. Investigators said they believed those remains belonged to Mosley. The findings became another part of the evidence being gathered as authorities worked to account for what happened to her.
Bradley has been charged with malice murder and concealing the death of another person in connection with Mosley’s death. The charges represent allegations, and the available information does not establish guilt. Authorities have not publicly disclosed a possible motive, explained why Mosley may have gone to Bradley’s apartment, or identified where the shooting occurred. The investigation and legal proceedings are expected to address those unresolved questions as evidence is reviewed and the case moves forward.
For Mosley’s family and those who knew her, the investigation cannot erase the personal loss behind the case. Shanteria “KT” Mosley is remembered as a person whose death has left relatives searching for answers while authorities work to establish a complete account of what happened. The circumstances have drawn attention because of the criminal allegations, but the central fact remains the loss of a life. Her loved ones now face grief while awaiting further developments in the investigation and court process. Additional findings may clarify the timeline, establish how Mosley was killed, and help authorities determine whether evidence or individuals are relevant to the case as the investigation continues.
