MIAMI, Fla. — An investigation has been initiated by the FBI following the discovery of a deceased individual on the Carnival Horizon cruise ship, which was navigating the Caribbean with almost 4,000 passengers. The vessel arrived back at PortMiami as planned on Saturday morning.
As reported by Carnival Cruise Line, officials from the company are entirely assisting the FBI’s local office in Miami. Investigators were seen taking a body off the ship and transferring it into a van belonging to the Miami-Dade Medical Examiner’s Office.
The identity of the deceased and the specifics surrounding the death have not been officially disclosed by the authorities. Nevertheless, several posts on social media from friends and relatives have named the passenger as 18-year-old Anna Kepner from Titusville, Florida. The FBI has not revealed if there are any indications of foul play.
