Benjamin “Ben” Townsend Mosteller, aged 39, from Smyrna, Georgia, with deep family ties to Dalton and Chatsworth, went to rest on October 29, 2025, following a brave struggle against brain cancer. His existence was characterized by faith, love, and dedication—attributes that influenced everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Ben was cherished as a husband, father, son, brother, educator, and friend. As a talented teacher and coach at The Westminster Schools in Atlanta, he engaged with his work with intention and happiness, motivating his students to view history not merely as past events but as narratives that influence our current lives. His classroom fostered an environment filled with curiosity, kindness, and joy. Holding a master’s degree in history from the College of Charleston, Ben channeled his enthusiasm for education to cultivate empathy, integrity, and a sincere passion for learning in every individual he taught.

Known for his extraordinary kindness and modesty, Ben displayed a genuine interest in the world and its inhabitants. He traveled extensively, shared experiences from his adventures, and infused those insights into both his teaching practices and domestic life. His generous spirit extended well beyond his profession—he was a friend who listened, a neighbor who assisted, and a volunteer who quietly made significant contributions in every context he entered.

At home, Ben found the greatest happiness alongside his wife Leslie and their daughters, Ada and Mae. Their connection exemplified true partnership, joy, and shared faith. For his family and friends, Ben will be remembered as a reliable, cheerful, and profoundly compassionate individual—a man who embodied his convictions and exhibited grace in every aspect of his life.

A memorial service honoring Ben’s life will take place on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at Trinity Anglican Church in Atlanta, organized by Peeples Funeral Home & Crematory of Chatsworth. For those wishing to honor his memory, the family suggests contributions to a scholarship fund established in his name at The Westminster Schools or to the college savings plan for Ada and Mae.
