BRONX, N.Y. — The New York City Police Department is looking into a fatal shooting that resulted in the death of 25-year-old Chanler Reams on Sunday evening, November 9, 2025, in the Bronx.
As per officials, officers from the 48th Precinct responded to alerts of a shooting at approximately 5:45 p.m. at 2111 Southern Boulevard. When they arrived, they found Reams unconscious and not breathing inside the building, having suffered a gunshot wound to the head.
Emergency Medical Services quickly followed and declared Reams deceased on the scene.
Members of the NYPD Crime Scene Unit examined the scene while officers maintained security at the site. Representatives from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner subsequently took charge of Reams’ remains for additional investigation.
Currently, no individuals have been apprehended, and detectives are still looking for the individual or individuals responsible. The inquiry is still active and ongoing, and anyone with details is encouraged to reach out to the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
