Community of Encino Grieves for Joel Perez Following Devastating Accident

The close-knit neighborhood of Encino is in shock following the unexpected passing of 63-year-old Joel Perez, who sadly died early Tuesday morning as a result of a tragic accident on FM 430 near County Road 315. The Texas Department of Public Safety reported that Joel was traveling west just before 7 a.m. when reduced visibility caused by heavy dust from nearby vehicles resulted in an accident. In these dangerous circumstances, his car struck a stationary forklift that had come to a halt in the eastbound lane because of mechanical failure.

Even with a rapid emergency response, Joel was declared dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace Roland Garza. His death has created a significant void in the lives of his family, friends, and the larger community. Recognized for his kindness, steadfast support, and humble strength, Joel was a cherished individual whose kindness and reliable presence impacted many.
