Dale E. Wert Obituary Death News: Tragic Accident Close to Milford Takes the Lives of Young Motorist and Goshen Resident

 MILFORD – Law enforcement officials in Kosciusko County are looking into a tragic crash involving two vehicles that resulted in the deaths of two individuals late Thursday morning, located just north of Milford.



As reported by the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office, deputies along with emergency responders were alerted at 11:31 a.m. on Thursday regarding a severe accident on State Road 15, located approximately a quarter mile north of Waubee Road in Van Buren Township. Upon arrival, first responders encountered a catastrophic head-on collision involving two cars: a Chevy Silverado operated by 68-year-old Dale E. Wert from Goshen and a Hyundai Accent driven by 19-year-old Sarah Mischke from Milford.

The precise reason for the crash is still unclear, and investigators are actively working to determine the factors that caused the two vehicles to collide.

Wert sustained life-threatening injuries and was airlifted by Lutheran EMS to Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. Despite extensive medical intervention, he succumbed to his injuries later on.

Mischke was declared dead at the crash site by Kosciusko County Coroner Tyler Huffer due to the critical injuries she incurred during the accident.

Several agencies were on the scene, which included the Milford Police Department, Milford Fire Department, Plain Township Fire Department, Lutheran EMS, Kosciusko County Coroner’s Office, the county's 911 dispatch center, and Raven’s Wecker Service.

The Kosciusko County FACT Team is still looking into the details surrounding the fatal incident.
