Darrion Williams Obituary News: Two Prisoners Killed After Stabbing Incident While in Custody at W.C. “Dub” Brassell Adult Detention Center

 JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ark — The investigation into a tragic and violent event happening on Saturday afternoon at the W.C. “Dub” Brassell Adult Detention Center (DBDC) in Pine Bluff is being conducted by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO).

Authorities report that the incident transpired at approximately 2:47 p.m. within a residential section of the facility, involving several detainees. During this altercation, two individuals in custody were stabbed with sharp objects. Detention personnel quickly intervened, extracting the injured parties from the situation and administering lifesaving assistance until emergency responders arrived. Despite ongoing medical interventions, both individuals were declared dead.

The victims have been named as 24-year-old Darrion Williams and 22-year-old Jonathan Danard Harris.

In the aftermath of this occurrence, the detention center was put under lockdown, limiting movement throughout the premises as staff worked to secure the area and gather evidence. Investigators have pinpointed at least two additional detainees thought to have participated in the incident and will conduct interviews as part of the continuous criminal inquiry.

Sheriff Woods, along with the command staff and facility chaplain, Lieutenant Anthony Craig, has met with the families of both victims to provide consolation and to formally inform them of their devastating loss.
