As reported by the Iowa State Patrol, Deborah was operating her Jeep Grand Cherokee heading west at around 7:14 a.m. when icy and snow-covered roads led to her losing control of the vehicle. It veered into the opposite lane, where it struck a semi-truck. Deborah was thrown from the Jeep and suffered severe injuries. Despite the attempts made by emergency personnel, she eventually passed away from those injuries.
