Demetry Quiruz, a 19-year-old biker, loses his life in a motorcycle accident in Maricopa.

 MARICOPA, Ariz. — The community of Maricopa is in sorrow over the unexpected and heartbreaking passing of Demetry Quiruz, a motorcyclist aged 19, who lost his life on Friday night following an accident at the intersection of Smith-Enke Road and Porter Road.

Officials stated that the incident took place around 7 p.m. when a Tesla sedan collided with a Yamaha motorcycle. The collision caused Demetry to be thrown from his motorcycle, leading to severe injuries. Despite the quick actions of emergency teams and immediate medical care, Demetry was declared dead shortly after he reached a nearby medical facility.

Initial results from the Maricopa Police Department suggest that Demetry was heading east on Smith-Enke Road and allegedly did not stop for a red light, which led to the crash with the Tesla making a left turn. Authorities confirmed that the Tesla driver had no signs of impairment, and it is not believed that alcohol or other substances played a role.
