Dick Engbers, a treasured member of Evansville’s arts community and former Managing and Artistic Director of the Evansville Civic Theatre, has died following an extended illness. Raised in Evansville, Indiana, Dick completed his schooling at Memorial High School and then pursued business studies at Lockyear Business College.
He merged that practical education with his artistic enthusiasm, embarking on an extraordinary journey in community theater. In 2005, after many years of guiding and inspiring others, he stepped down from the Evansville Civic Theatre, where his insights were instrumental in shaping numerous generations of performers and narrators.
