LINCOLN, Neb. — The community in Lincoln is grieving the passing of Donald Wilson, aged 75, who sadly lost his life in a two-car accident on Wednesday in eastern Lincoln.
Law enforcement reports indicate that the incident took place just after 12:35 p.m. at the crossroads of 70th and L Streets, close to CHI Health St. Elizabeth. As per statements from the Lincoln Police Department (LPD), Wilson was operating a black Nissan Kicks heading north on 70th Street and making a left turn onto L Street when a gray Ford Explorer driving south on 70th Street collided with his vehicle.
Witnesses shared that the driver of the Explorer, a 24-year-old man from Lincoln, was speeding and maneuvering through traffic recklessly before the accident occurred. Wilson was taken to the hospital, where he tragically passed away. His passenger, a 74-year-old woman from Lincoln, was also admitted with significant injuries. The driver of the Explorer experienced minor injuries.
