The tragic news was first shared by Edwin Ayoung, a close friend of Gail, who stated, “I am filled with sadness this morning, as GAIL SANKARSINGH, my best friend, has passed away in New York at 1:41 a.m.”

Gail’s death signifies the loss of one of the city’s most esteemed and talented real estate experts. Renowned for her skills, exceptional work ethic, and graceful client interactions, she established a reputation that transcended New York, garnering respect both locally and internationally. She achieved impressive rankings of #5 and #6 among over 7,000 brokers at Douglas Elliman across the country, positioning her as a leading authority in the luxury co-op and condominium market.

With more than 15 years immersed in the residential real estate of New York City, Gail embodied both dedication and expertise throughout her career. Her comprehensive understanding of the city’s most prestigious buildings, along with her keen insight into client requirements, made her a respected professional in one of the globe’s most competitive real estate arenas.

In recent times, Gail directed her efforts towards catering to her private clients more intimately, thriving in both new development and resale transactions. Her professional background included key positions at many of Manhattan’s most desirable properties. She led sales for The Centrale, a luxurious Midtown tower featuring 124 residences, and was instrumental in the sellout of The Chamberlain, an exclusive co-op on the Upper West Side. Additionally, she functioned as the Director of Sales at the esteemed Baccarat Hotel and Residences located on Fifth Avenue, where she and her team managed the sale of the phenomenal $60 million penthouse, along with other high-end units.

Her career encompassed involvement with several renowned projects, such as Manhattan House, The Apthorp, The Residences at 400 Fifth Avenue, 101 Leonard Street, and The Beekman Hotel and Residences.
