 Heidi Divis Obituary, Death; – The woman who died after being hit by a car on Thursday has been named by the Council Bluffs Police Department.

Law enforcement personnel arrived at the site close to 8th Street and Kanesville Boulevard shortly after 5:45 p.m. on Thursday.

In an update provided on Friday, authorities reported that the victim, identified as 47-year-old Heidi Divis from Omaha, was in the process of crossing the intersection without following the pedestrian signal at the time of the collision.

Initial inquiries indicated that the driver entered the intersection while the traffic light was yellow, which led to Divis being struck and ultimately losing her life.

 Investigators are looking into possible factors contributing to the crash, including the driver's alcohol use, speed, and disregard for traffic signals.

Following the observed signs of impairment displayed by the driver, results from a blood test are still awaited, as stated in a released announcement.
