Individual Recognized in Deadly Midwest City Law Enforcement Chase tried to start a vehicle stop

Midwest City, OK — Law enforcement officials have disclosed the identity of the individual who lost their life on Monday evening following a high-speed chase that concluded in a deadly collision in Midwest City.

As reported by the Midwest City Police Department, the events commenced shortly after 8:10 p.m. on November 3, 2025, when dispatch from Oklahoma County received notifications regarding an assault and a vehicle theft at a Dollar General in Harrah. The accused reportedly attacked a victim using a pipe before fleeing the location in a stolen silver Nissan sedan.

Approximately 20 minutes later, a police officer from Midwest City recognized a vehicle that matched the description heading south on Sooner Road. When the officer attempted to pull the car over, the driver refused to stop, leading to a chase that lasted around seven minutes through residential neighborhoods and onto Southeast 15th Street.

According to law enforcement, the pursuit concluded when an officer executed a Tactical Vehicle Intervention (TVI) maneuver to halt the suspect's vehicle. The collision resulted in the Nissan crashing into another vehicle that had been stopped in the westbound lanes between Century and Douglas boulevards. The driver of the other vehicle suffered minor injuries and received treatment at the scene.

The deceased suspect was identified as Brice Lajuan Edwards, 49, from Oklahoma County. He received medical assistance at the scene before being taken to a nearby hospital, where he was declared dead.

Following department procedures, the officer involved in the maneuver has been placed on paid leave while a comprehensive investigation is conducted by detectives and accident reconstruction experts. The Oklahoma County District Attorney’s Office has been informed and will assess the results after the investigation is concluded.

“We appreciate the assistance we have received from witnesses and other agencies that responded,” stated Police Chief Greg Wipfli. “This is a heartbreaking incident, and our department is dedicated to conducting a complete and open investigation.”

Officials are actively collecting evidence and speaking with witnesses to clarify the circumstances surrounding the tragic crash.
