Jennifer Rose Gerard Death Notice, Obituary; Authorities discover a woman fatally wounded by stabbing, while a man suffers serious injuries close to the location of a break-in near Asheville.

 Jennifer Rose Gerard Obituary, Death; – A female has died, and a male has experienced serious injuries following what seems to be a robbery and attack at a home in Asheville on Thursday evening.

As reported by police in Asheville, officers were sent to Warren Avenue around 10:15 p.m. to help emergency medical service workers with a man who had incurred severe injuries. When they arrived, the officers found a victim with life-threatening injuries, who was then taken to Mission Hospital.

While conducting their investigation, the police mentioned that they carried out a welfare check at a nearby house, where they discovered signs of a break-in and located Jennifer Rose Gerard, 45, deceased due to stab wounds.

Officials have named Douglas Michael Stroupe, 32, as a suspect and arrested him near the location of the incident.

Following the gathering of evidence and testimonials from witnesses, law enforcement indicated that Stroupe was taken into custody and is facing charges of first-degree murder, attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon causing serious bodily harm with the intent to kill, and first-degree burglary. Stroupe is presently being held at the Buncombe County Detention Facility without bail.

The Asheville police stated that Gerard’s death marks the fifth homicide in the city for the year 2025.
