Jodelens Joseph Obituary Death Announcement: Three Lives Lost in Multiple Vehicle Collision on Molly Pitcher Highway in

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Pa — Officials are looking into a devastating accident that resulted in the deaths of three individuals early Wednesday morning in Franklin County. The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) reports that the incident took place around 6:30 a.m. on Route 11 (Molly Pitcher Highway) in Greene Township, involving a combination of a tractor-trailer and a passenger car.

Shortly after the incident, the Franklin County Coroner’s Office was summoned to the site. Initial reports from the Pennsylvania State Police suggest that a 2006 Lincoln Zephyr, which was headed south, crossed over the center turning lane into the path of northbound traffic and struck a tractor-trailer.

All three individuals in the Lincoln were pronounced dead at the location of the accident. Law enforcement officials have named the deceased as 47-year-old Saintanie Jean Baptiste from Chambersburg, 42-year-old Jodelens Joseph also from Chambersburg, and 30-year-old Claire Elveus from Lauderhill, Florida.

The operator of the tractor-trailer may have incurred an injury but is anticipated to make a full recovery.

After the crash, Route 11 was momentarily shut down between Wagner Road and Pinola Road while officials carried out their investigation and removed wreckage from the roadway. PennDOT has verified that the highway is now open to traffic again.

The Pennsylvania State Police are continuing to explore the events leading up to the crash, particularly what triggered the Lincoln to enter into the oncoming lane.

This tragic event has profoundly impacted the Chambersburg community, as relatives and friends grieve the abrupt loss of three individuals. Authorities are advising motorists to exercise caution and stay alert while navigating through the area.
