Katelyn “Katie” Heine Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Tribute: The Florence community feels sorrow over the loss

 The Florence community grieves the tragic loss of Katelyn Marie “Katie” Heine, aged 31, who departed from this world on November 23, 2025. Known for her compassion, faith, and quiet resilience, Katie led a life that impacted numerous individuals in significant and enduring ways.

Her departure has left her family, friends, colleagues, and the many lives she touched in profound grief, yet her spirit continues to illuminate through the affection she generously shared.

From early childhood, Katie was recognized for her gentle demeanor and innate ability to care for those in her vicinity. These traits directed her towards a profession in healthcare, where she ultimately served as a NICU nurse at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital.

Her coworkers admired her professionalism, elegance, and her talent for instilling peace even in the most anxious circumstances. To many parents, she will always be remembered as the nurse who looked after their infants as if they were her own.

Beyond her professional life, Katie led a life based on love and commitment to her family. She was a devoted wife and mother, roles she fulfilled with grace and happiness.

Katie and her husband, Brad, enjoyed a wonderful relationship built on mutual admiration, shared values, and a joy for life’s simple moments. One of their cherished pastimes was fishing together—time spent by the water provided them with tranquility, laughter, and treasured memories.

Welcoming their son, Noah William Heine, was a significant joy for Katie. Her gentleness, patience, and affection made her an extraordinary mother, influencing every moment within their household.

Katie also possessed a spirit of adventure, delighting in opportunities to travel and discover new locations. Whether she was exploring fresh landscapes or engaging with diverse cultures, she approached every trip with a sense of wonder and appreciation.

Her enthusiasm for life’s journeys was paralleled by her devotion to her faith. As an engaged member of 7 Hills Church, Katie discovered purpose, fellowship, and spiritual guidance. Her warmth, authenticity, and talent for making others feel acknowledged and appreciated endeared her to her church community.

Katie is survived by her husband, Brad; her son, Noah; her parents, Kevin Girard and Cara Conwell; her sister, Melissa (Austin) Conwell; and her grandparents, William and Sue Green, following the death of her stepdaughter, Audree Heine, and grandparents Jan and Bob Conwell.

She also leaves numerous extended family members, cousins, and in-laws, including Bill and Debbie Heine and Melissa Heine, all of whom deeply feel the loss of her presence.

A visitation to celebrate Katie’s life will take place on Saturday, November 29, 2025, from 3–6 p.m., with a service occurring afterward. The family will have a private burial. Cooper Funeral Home is responsible for the arrangements.

Although her time here was far too brief, Katelyn “Katie” Heine has left a legacy characterized by compassion, dedication, and faith—one that will keep inspiring and uplifting those fortunate enough to have known her.
