 It is with profound sadness that we announce the death of CCSD Officer Bryan Zapp. Officer Zapp was not just a welcoming presence—he brought immense happiness to countless individuals.

During the last academic year, we had the privilege of having Officer Zapp participate in several of our BGSA Character Greetings. He eagerly engaged in the festivities—taking pictures, having fun with the characters, and encouraging those hesitant students who needed a bit more bravery to approach their beloved princesses and superheroes. His involvement transformed regular occasions into cherished experiences.

We are extremely fortunate to have witnessed the joy, kindness, and warmth that Officer Zapp exuded wherever he went. Our hearts go out to his family, friends, and the entire CCSD community during this trying period.

With great sorrow, I feel compelled to share the news with those unaware that Harley’s previous softball coach, who also served as a police officer, was a veteran, and a remarkable father to his daughter, Kyndal—Harley’s friend—Bryan William Zapp has passed away. He and I cultivated a meaningful friendship recently, and I genuinely find myself speechless regarding how heartbreaking this situation is. His loss is a true tragedy, and we should all take a moment to pay tribute to him and find ways to support his family.

I will deeply miss you, my friend. I will miss the bond we shared and how wonderfully you treated my daughter as well as your own. If you had the privilege of knowing Bryan, you understand just how exceptional he was.
