Law enforcement has taken into custody 25-year-old Shanoyd Whyte, a man suspected of having a romantic involvement with the victim, charging him with first-degree premeditated murder involving a firearm.

Whyte was taken into custody on November 14, 2025, by police in Lauderdale Lakes and is currently detained within the county jail without the possibility of bail.
