MIDLAND, Texas — A motorcyclist lost his life on Tuesday evening after an accident on Andrews Highway, as reported by the Midland Police Department.
Officers arrived at the 700 block of Andrews Highway around 9:46 p.m. after they were alerted about the incident involving a motorcycle and a pickup truck. Upon reaching the scene, law enforcement discovered a damaged maroon 2009 GMC pickup, notably impacted on its front left quarter panel. Investigators established that the motorcycle, a 2026 Kawasaki EX6, had collided with the pickup.
The rider of the motorcycle was revealed to be Tucker Lee Boring. As per the investigation, Boring was heading west in the outer lane at a high speed when the GMC pulled out from a private driveway. The impact resulted in both Boring and his passenger being thrown from the motorcycle.
Boring was declared dead at the scene. His passenger was taken to Midland Memorial Hospital suffering from severe injuries.
Officials suspect that excessive speed played a role in the incident. The Midland Police Department has announced that the family has been informed, and the inquiry is still underway.
Authorities are advising motorists to drive carefully and stay vigilant of their surroundings, particularly at intersections and private entrances along heavily traveled routes such as Andrews Highway.
