Victor Adeleke Suicide Penn Hills Township, PA Death, Obituary: 10th-Grade Student Has Passed Away

The community of Penn Hills is deeply saddened by the tragic loss of Victor Adeleke, a 10th-grade student at Penn Hills High School, who died on Thanksgiving Day. The Penn Hills School District confirmed his death through a public announcement, which has caused immense grief among students, faculty, families, and everyone who was acquainted with him.

In a statement posted on the district’s official Facebook account, the leaders conveyed their profound sorrow and offered their support to the Adeleke family. “Our whole school community is devastated by this tragic loss,” the district stated. “We offer our sincerest sympathies to Victor’s relatives, friends, classmates, and everyone who knew and loved him. The loss of a young member of our community brings indescribable heartache, and we grieve as one district.”

Victor was recognized by his classmates and teachers as a brilliant and compassionate student who brought positivity to daily school activities. His absence leaves a significant gap in the corridors of Penn Hills High School, where many students experienced classes, discussions, and friendships with him.

As the school community starts to come to terms with this unimaginable loss, the district has announced that extra counseling and support services will be available shortly to help both students and staff. Classes are expected to resume on Tuesday after the Thanksgiving break, with mental health teams ready to provide support, comfort, and a space for reflection.

Superintendent John Mozzocio highlighted the district’s dedication to respecting the family’s privacy, guiding the public to the official announcement. School board president Erin Vecchio also expressed her condolences, describing Victor’s death as “a significant tragedy” for the entire district and urging the community to keep his family in their thoughts and prayers.

The district's message ended with a plea for collective empathy: “Please remember Victor’s family in your thoughts as they go through this extremely challenging time.”

Victor’s passing serves as a heartbreaking reminder of the silent struggles many young individuals may endure. As the Penn Hills community comes together in sorrow, they also come together in love, commemorating Victor’s life, mourning his absence, and supporting those who feel his loss the most.
