SPLENDORA, Texas — The Splendora neighborhood is grieving the devastating loss of Aubriee Harvey, an 11-year-old girl who lost her life in a tragic all-terrain vehicle accident on Monday afternoon.
According to officials, the incident took place at approximately 1:45 p.m. on the 13000 block of Morgan Drive. Emergency Medical Services were initially called for a suspected cardiac arrest but were later updated about the actual ATV incident. When they arrived, Splendora's police and fire departments discovered an overturned ATV within a fenced area, which had rolled onto Aubriee Harvey, and she was declared dead at the scene.
The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) stated that Aubriee was riding north alongside a ditch on Morgan Drive when the ATV entered the ditch, collided with a fence, and overturned. The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office (MCSO) and a forensic investigator from Montgomery County also arrived to aid in the investigation.
Aubriee’s remains were taken by Eickenhorst Funeral Directors to the Montgomery County Forensic Center for an autopsy. Investigators continue to examine the situation to clarify the details leading to the accident.
