The entire CSBJ Rugby community is mourning the tragic loss of Benjamin Jaillet, whose unexpected death has plunged the club and the greater Bourgoin-Jallieu area into deep sorrow. At the age of 43, Benjamin was much more than just a coach; he served as a mentor, a symbol of commitment, and a lifelong supporter of the sport that he cherished.
In his youth, Benjamin was a proud player for Bourgoin-Jallieu before he went on to play for Saint-Savin and La Tour-du-Pin (RCVT). His enthusiasm for rugby never diminished; rather, it intensified, leading him back to CSBJ Rugby where he dedicated himself to cultivating the next generation with the same passion and spirit that characterized his own playing experiences.
As a coach at the École de Rugby, Benjamin committed himself fully to the development of young talent. He guided the U14 team during the last season and also coached the U12s the previous year, always demonstrating patience, enthusiasm, and a genuine belief in every child's abilities. Those fortunate enough to learn from him will always remember his support, kindness, and the happiness he infused into each training session. Benjamin had a remarkable ability to make young athletes feel appreciated—not just as competitors, but as unique individuals.
His influence goes beyond the club, impacting teammates, colleagues, friends, and everyone who shared the field or the stands with him. Benjamin was a faithful advocate for the Sky and Garnet colors—loyal, passionate, and constantly present. His devotion to the sport was rivaled only by the love he held for his family.
Today, the entire CSBJ community's thoughts are with his family, particularly his sons Soan, Liam, and Noah, who are following in their father’s footsteps as young players in the club. May they draw strength from the immense pride he had for them and find solace in the knowledge that their father’s influence will resonate for many years ahead.
Benjamin contributed so much—his time, his commitment, his mentorship, and his steadfast loyalty. For everything he provided, we express our gratitude: Thank you, Benjamin. Your absence will be felt deeply, but your legacy will endure every time a young player steps onto the field with courage and heart.
