Bondi Beach Shooting Incident Results in Minimum of 12 Fatalities, Numerous People Hurt During Festive Gathering

 A mass shooting at the well-known Bondi Beach in Australia has resulted in a minimum of 12 fatalities and many more injured, shocking both the nation and the world. The event took place on the evening of December 14, during a busy holiday celebration.



According to the New South Wales Police, emergency responders arrived at the scene after receiving alerts about gunfire near Campbell Parade around 6:45 p.m. local time. Police Commissioner Mal Lanyon verified that 29 individuals were taken to the hospital and noted that the case will be pursued by counter-terrorism agencies.

Officials reported that one suspected shooter was shot dead at the location, while another alleged gunman is in a serious condition. The police have also indicated that two suspects are currently in custody as the investigation moves forward.

This shooting happened while families and children were enjoying "Chanukah by the Sea," a Jewish festival at the beach. There are reports that both children and a police officer were included among those affected.

Clips shared on social media depict panicked crowds running away from the beach amidst the sound of gunfire, with some of the injured seen lying on the ground. Eyewitnesses mentioned a gunman shooting at people from a bridge that overlooked the beach.
