 Camila Mendoza Olmos Missing—Authorities in Texas are ramping up their attempts to find Camila Mendoza Olmos, a 19-year-old who has been unaccounted for since Christmas Eve and is feared to be in “imminent danger,” as reported by the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office. The situation has raised significant alarm since there have been no confirmed sightings in the days that have followed, prompting collaboration with multiple agencies in the search effort.

The last confirmed sighting of Camila occurred early on Wednesday morning, December 24, at her residence on the 11000 block of Caspian Spring in northwest Bexar County. Review of surveillance video by detectives captured a person thought to be Camila around 7:00 a.m., rummaging through her vehicle for an unknown object. Law enforcement officials mention that her car was left untouched at her home, suggesting she might have exited the area on foot.

Investigators believe the only items Camila possibly took with her were her car keys and perhaps her driver’s license. It is significant that she left her cellphone behind—something Sheriff Javier Salazar referred to as “highly unusual” given her typically active lifestyle and daily practices. Concern grew among family members when she did not return from what was presumed to be her usual morning walk.

Sheriff Salazar confirmed that deputies, search-and-rescue teams, and local volunteers are tirelessly working to find the missing young woman. The search efforts have expanded, with assistance from the FBI offering technical expertise and the Department of Homeland Security keeping an eye on border crossings and international travel.

“We certainly do not want to overlook anything,” Salazar mentioned. “The ground search has certain limitations over a few square miles; however, we are not dismissing the possibility that this case may lead us beyond U.S. borders.”

Authorities are considering all scenarios linked to Camila’s disappearance. Sheriff Salazar noted that possibilities being explored include kidnapping, human trafficking, or that she may have left voluntarily. It has been reported that Camila recently went through a breakup, which has been characterized as mutual. Officials have stated there are no signs of foul play tied to this event. Those close to her have been reportedly forthcoming with authorities.

Camila was dressed in a baby-blue and black hoodie, matching baby-blue pajama bottoms, and white footwear at the time she was last seen. Sheriff Salazar also responded to online rumors, clarifying that Camila, who is a U.S. citizen, was not apprehended by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Officials confirmed there were no immigration-related incidents associated with her case.

Although law enforcement has kept some information private to maintain the investigation's integrity, Salazar stressed there is sufficient evidence to suggest that Camila could be in immediate peril. Authorities are calling upon the public to check surveillance video from nearby residences and businesses to assist in the investigation.
