AUSTIN, Texas — Officers from the Austin Police Department (APD) are looking into a heartbreaking shooting incident that claimed the lives of two relatives on Monday, December 22, 2025.
At around 5:19 p.m., officers were sent to the 10400 block of O'Rourk Lane after a report indicated that a father and son were located in the home. Upon their arrival, officers discovered two men suffering from visible gunshot injuries. Both individuals were declared dead at the scene.
The deceased have been named as Charles Wagnon, aged 79, and Trevor Shepherd, aged 20, representing a grandfather and grandson relationship. Investigators concluded that a disagreement escalated into violence, with both individuals firing at each other within the residence.
Homicide investigators along with crime scene analysts arrived to examine the area and speak with witnesses. This case is being classified as the 53rd and 54th homicides in Austin for the year 2025.

This unfortunate event has caused sorrow in the Austin community and among the families of the victims, as authorities persist in their inquiry.
